If you are running Windows*, you can run iOBACKUP.  Storage requirements will vary depending on the type of backup you require.  Local storage can range from 100MB of free space for application installation and temporary file storage to double the size on the data you want to protect.

iOBACKUP will backup and restore any file type that is viewable by your computer.  From large databases, email information stores, Word, Excel, PowerPoint to files residing on mapped network drives - iOBACKUP can handle them all.

At this time iOBACKUP does not support installation on operating systems other than Windows.  Our Knowledge Base contians articles describing how to protect other sytems using non-standard installation configurations.

iOBACKUP is an application that automatically backs up all the data on a Windows computer and stores it remotely in a secure, off-site location. Unlike most consumer-grade applications (Dropbox, Mozy, Carbonite, etc) that merely transmit encrypted data, iOBACKUP data is transmitted and stored encrypted – meaning the only way to view files is to decrypt and restore them to a Windows machine.

iOBACKUP is not an Internet file sharing application like DropBox or Box [dot] net. Users cannot search for files in their remotely stored accounts. For security purposes, all client data is encrypted and therefore must be decrypted and restored to a Windows computer or server to be viewed.

Because it is the only way to be certain ALL of your data is backed up EVERY DAY after work. iOBACKUP employs customizable scheduling for its backups allowing users and businesses to focus on data creation and not data retention.

Ask your IT director if each individual workstation (computer) is also backed up. If someone forgets to upload a file that is sitting on his or her desktop (for instance) and that computer is compromised, the data will be lost forever. Someone forgetting to upload a changed file back to the company server is a leading cause of crucial data loss. iOBACKUP can be directed to deposit data into any network-attached storage device.

That hard drive can be stolen or destroyed. iOBACKUP supports Local Mirroring so you can still backup to your external hard drive or tape backup but your data is also stored securely in multiple remote iOBACKUP data centers.

Tape backup is better than no backup but, again, tapes can be lost, have finite storage capacity and their moving parts are prone to failure over time. iOBACKUP client data is stored in Skyscraper’s redundant, geographically separate Tier 4 data centers in the United States. For security purposes, Skyscraper Data Solutions does not divulge the locations of its multiple data centers.

iOBACKUP servers and network attached storage devices are located in guarded Tier 4 facilities shared by NASA, the United States Government and the FDIC. Your data is encrypted by iOBACKUP, uploaded, duplicated and secured in multiple facilities offering 99.999999% (8 nines) of high-availability uptime. SDS continually monitors international security protocols.

No. LUS Fiber provides Internet services only – LUS Fiber is in no way associated nor does it own nor is it responsible for iOBACKUP. Skyscraper Data Solutions accepts full responsibility for iOBACKUP clients. Once an LUS Fiber customer agrees to download and install iOBACKUP they become a Skyscraper Data Solutions customer with a separate account and login credentials. LUS and Skyscraper do not share any customer information in any way, at any time.

Yes and No – iOBACKUP is a Windows only product. However, Macintosh users can install iOBACKUP on a virtual instance of Windows utilizing VM Ware’s Fusion product. Disclaimer: Skyscraper Data Solutions does not endorse VM Ware or Fusion nor does it guarantee that this application as a proven method of iOBACKUP deployment. Utilizing iOBACKUP on any non-Windows hardware machine in a non-native or otherwise subverted fashion voids any iOBACKUP and or Skyscraper Holding Company warranties implied or held within this or any Skyscraper produced document.

SDS is contemplating a Mac version but since Macintosh is not considered an Enterprise – class platform and Apple no longer supports XSERVE, we would currently have to compromise iOBACKUP’s robust feature set. Mac inclusion is TBD 2012.

All LUS Fiber customers receive a complimentary installation of iOBACKUP Express plus 10 gigabytes of remote, cloud storage. Pricing starts at less than $1 per gigabyte after the 10GB complimentary storage is exceeded. Custom packages may be available for businesses needing installations on 10 or more machines. Simply complete the online registration at skyscraperdatasolutions.com and once your credentials are confirmed, your cloud space will be appropriated and an installation of iOBACKUP will be emailed to the address you used to register.

SDS is not an Internet Service Provider and therefore has no control over your Internet connection speed. To check your current connection, we recommend using SpeedTest.net diagnostic tools. Contact your Internet Service Provider with questions or to obtain faster, priority rate Internet services.

No. Since iOBACKUP is not a file sync or sharing application, the only mobile application SDS plans to release is a mobile dashboard for IT professionals to confirm upload / download statuses and run diagnostic checks. Again, iOBACKUP is an encrypted backup application that is stored encrypted – any mobile access compromises our stringent security protocols. TBA 2012.

No. Unlike many other companies (Facebook, Dropbox, Google, etc) SDS does not share, sell or grant access to client data. We pride ourselves on boundless enterprise security for our clientele.

We leave your encrypted data on our servers for 90 days after an account suspension or cancellation.  After those 90 days, you will not be able to retreive your data.
